Citizens Advice Mid Bedfordshire, Chief Officer
Weekly Hours and Annual Salary: 36 hours, £31,163 per annum
Citizens Advice Mid Bedfordshire is looking to recruit a Chief Officer to be in post from December 2019.
Passionate about making a difference, you will lead Citizens Advice Mid Bedfordshire to ensure we deliver excellent advice services that meet the needs of the eight towns and 42 parishes in our rural community.
Citizens Advice Mid Bedfordshire has been giving quality advice and information to local people for nearly 40 years. In the last year we helped over 2,000 people to resolve over 8,000 issues. We are proud of our standing in the local community and wish to maintain good relationships built on trust and respect. Our annual income is approximately £188,000.
As Chief Officer you will be responsible for leading and managing a highly motivated team of 10 part time paid staff and an average of 50 trained volunteers, to provide the best possible outcomes for our clients. You will work with and be accountable to an engaged and supportive Trustee Board. In addition to the weekly hours, there is an expectation to attend six evening Trustee Board meetings and some occasional evening meetings with other organisations.
You will be
responsible for service development and income generation. You will be able to
demonstrate flair and a strong track record in these areas. You will have the
confidence and credibility to build relationships with a broad range of
partners and stakeholders across the voluntary, public and private sectors. You
will possess excellent communication, networking and interpersonal skills.
You will manage a small staff team across two offices (Ampthill and Biggleswade) to provide support and training to colleagues and volunteers. The role will require you to promote and represent Citizens Advice Mid Bedfordshire by working actively and constructively with external partners and local agencies. It will be important to maintain and develop our existing excellent relationship with our core funder as well as to identify and explore new sources of funding and resources. You will also need to maintain and develop the tradition of valuable co-operation with other social, health and voluntary services.

If you would like an informal discussion about any aspect of the role please email firstname.lastname@example.org and one of our Trustees will arrange a convenient time to contact you.
